There were some half decent tyres back then,but certainly nothing like we have available now.Bridgestone possibly producing the best option with thier R E series tyres,but they were not produced for motorsport,being a very good road tyre.As they were road use,you were limited on sizes so in some case's you had the use CR 65s or similar.
