Talking about Simona de Silvestro , she told italiaracing magazine that she want to drive in gp2 next year. In 2007 she tested with campos and was immediately just 1.5 second behind Vitaly Petrov in second car.
In 2008 she was only 8 in star mazda championship , but now she is leading atlantic championship ahead of Borja Garcia, Marcus Niemela,Harald Schlegelmilch - quite good former gp2 riders. Also ahead future f1 driver Summerton by the way.
Baring in mind she is only 21 years old and will have budget ( 1 million prize if winning championship) must be the most promising female driver, far better than Gachnang, Kimiläinen and Patrick?! Hope to see her in gp2 - i believe she will be able to score some points ,need to win 2009 champ anyway. |
This is Simona's third year in Atlantics, is it not? But she is doing well, and I think the field is a lot stronger than people give it credit for. But she's not beating Harald, because he only did Sebring and finished ahead of her
