Seasonal debuts here for:
Class A
2nd Rouse Sierra (Klaus Niedzwiedz)- second car seen at the 2 GP supports and the TT, with BT Radiopaging sponsorship
2nd Brodie Starion (Vern Schuppan) Schuppan would also share the car with Brodie at the TT.
Class B:
Ilford Photo Escort RS Turbo- Mike Smith, presumably his regular prodsaloon? He'd be back at Brands later in the year
Demon Tweeks Golf- Alan Minshaw: the Demon Tweeks Mk2 Golf only came out a couple of times in '85- the GP meeting and the TT, Minshaw basically racing for fun having sunk a considerable amount of money into what proved to be an uncompetitive car
Class C:
Marshall-Asquith RS1600i (Karl Jones) A one-off appearance- I'd been puzzled by the story behind this, as I'd never seen any other mention of Gerry Marshall being involved with an RS1600i- Karl Jones was usually
doing prodsaloons in a Fiat Strada Abarth. I asked Gregor M. about it on another forum, and he filled in the details- a one-off entry in an Escort hired from Richard Longman.
Barry Lee RS1600i- the first of a couple of 1985 appearances for Lee's Escort, last seen in 'Total' colours the previous season
