This will be the 40th anniversary of the Long Beach Grand Prix. It is the longest running major street race in North America and started in 1975 as a Formula 5000 event and became the United States Grand Prix West for F1, from 1976 to 1983.
From 1984 to 2008 it was a CART/Champ Car perenial event and became an IndyCar Series race after reunification.
