That's the way it was always done on SPEED as well. And it used to get (in relative terms) good ratings despite of the delay.

During the later years it was broadcasted live on US-only speed2 web service in addition to that. Once it got canned and SPEED was killed, then the plan was to show full season on FOX Sports 2 but someone realized that 3000 viewers per race isn't the greatest way to go forward so they switched around to tape delay FS1.

Anyhow you can now watch it live on IMSA stream with RLM comms (and without one hour cut off like on FOX broadcast) so it's better than it used to be. For what's it worth I guess. But they won't put it to youtube until TV broadcast has aired *because ratings*.

World Challenge on NBCSN is actually worse in this aspect: tape delayed for X weeks and then sometimes couple of events slammed into one broadcast.
