I'd actually say something similar was true with the administration at NZ Football, we have a sport that is being played in huge numbers at grass roots level (far more than rugby for example) and yet there is a real lack of publicity or coverage of the top level competitions apart from brief coverage of the A League.
Maybe both MSNZ and NZ Football should use the NZRU to do their publicity...

Until we have a newspaper chain and a radio network that is owned by motorsport followers we can send media releases until our tail falls off but they are not going to use them as a national news item. Newspapers are allowed to do stories on local events and local news but national stuff is determined by the head shed.
As an example this release or another version of it went as I understand, to all significant newspapers and radio news services. How many of you have seen it printed or reported?
