Seems to be a lot of difference of opinion on what Bargs made an excuse for and what really happened. When you have Skaife, Murphy, Ingall various drivers and team managers all agreeing the leniency of the penalty was wrong, it must tell you something. Particularly since Bargs said that punting off the title contenders would be dealt with harshly.
