S60 will be on the line for at least another two to three years. For the V40 next year latest.
In addition it should be understood that the Volvo Polestar always very critical of the client program. Even in STCC they were not interested to build and sell customers race cars, there was only a couple of exceptions. I think they generally don't consider such option, and for this reason we will not see private S60 TC1.
The Volvo is a completely different approach than Honda. In 2007, Volvo has almost blocked the funding Polestar in STCC, as they saw no point in advertising old S60. If Dahl not found "green" financing(E85), the team would have missed the season. But next year there is a new C30, the Volvo immediately made a big budget. As needed publicity. In 2012, the C30 was discontinued, it was one of the reasons why Volvo has refused to participate in WTCC-2012.
