I was told it was water based ? I remember "blue mink" was one of them.
I had a 68 Escort GT in Blue Mink bought when about 5 years old and the paint started peeling in some places and just dull matt in others. Some parts were ok. Very odd.

There was a silver 1100 version at work with the same problem.

A couple of 3000Es at one time too. Yellow for them. Looked great at the time.
