Team mate battle results for qualifying after round three.


Mercedes: Lewis Hamilton - 1
Mercedes: Valtteri Bottas - 2

Ferrari: Sebastian Vettel - 2
Ferrari: Kimi Raikkonen - 1

Red Bull: Daniel Ricciardo - 1
Red Bull: Max Verstappen - 2

Force India: Sergio Perez - 2
Force India: Esteban Ocon - 1

Williams: Lance Stroll - 1
Williams: Sergey Sirotkin - 2

Renault: Nico Hulkenberg - 3
Renault: Carlos Sainz Jnr - 0

Toro Rosso: Pierre Gasly - 1
Toro Rosso: Brendon Hartley - 2

Haas: Romain Grosjean - 1
Haas: Kevin Magnussen - 2

McLaren: Fernando Alonso - 3
McLaren: Stoffel Vandoorne - 0

Sauber: Marcus Ericsson - 2

Perez the only driver to beat his team mate by more than 2 spots. All others closer to their team mate than previous rounds.

Hulkenberg and Alonso the only two drivers to have beaten their respective team mates in all three qualifying sessions this year. Really surprised about Sainz. Was expecting better from him.

Ferrari had the better overall car last year. Not so much in qualifying, but better in the races. This year they have definitely stepped up another notch in the chassis department, and is currently marginally ahead of Mercedes. Ferrari seems to have also matched (or even slightly bettered) the Mercedes PU. They now have the best car on the grid by far. The Ferrari is the biggest threat of 2018. Now up to Mercedes to make a comeback if they want to win the championship(s).
