It doesn't really make any sense for Subaru to do it. They don't really do racing anymore, GT300 being the exception. There is no connection between the brand (AWD family boxes) to DPi, and they don't have an engine as you mentioned. It would be quite a surprise to see Subaru Corp stick their neck out for this.
