Motors is now encrypted, so yes you do need a Sky Subscription. If you have a subscription and still get problems, then try a reset as explained by SALEEN S7R. It is transmitted on frequency 11307v, so check to see if other channels from there work:

If you are getting problems with those, then you may have a problem with the box or LNB on your dish. I have found out that some older boxes or the bit hanging on the end of the dish (LNB) are 'dropping' some channels. Get a neighbor to plug their box into your dish to see if they get the channels ok.
