Not necessary. If it will be the SMP Racing, they can pay the bill of a good driver (like Munnich Motorsport can pay Huff or Thompson if want) , and according to the rumors it might be a bit more than just raceing with the year old cars (maybe they can work together with Oreca and can make soem developement).

I'm sure he wants, but also sure he has not too much options. Lada or retirement.
I doubt he has sponsor background for a Citroen (I also doubt Tarquini spend his own money for that) and I don't know why Volvo choose him instead of Catsburg (who is the main contender for the 3rd Volvo drive imho).
