That's OK to have whathever you want in the run-off area for as long as you have enough free real estate in the probable impact areas for the probable speeds attained by your racing clases. Rule of the thumb says 1 foot/MPH and that's too little for my taste, worse if is a paved run-off with no decelerating, energy-absorbing material and you are aiming your out of control vehicle to another section of the track with other racers doing their buisness, unaware of incomong UFO's, I see such scenario in my favorite of your tracks (2nd one), fortunately seems quite easy to solve and not change much the soul of your proyect!
