I think you may have got the wrong end of the stick, the Elan is still well and truly in Jon's possession it’s been rebuilt to the original spec as when Jackie Stewart raced it for Chequered Flag.

He is currently rebuilding the Modsports version with the red roof and a replica 26R lotus Elan.

Jon did sell the old Z28 Camaro for at the time a good price. The guy who bought it blew the engine on the grid at Brands.

The Elan has not seen much action over the last 20 years but it has been round the targa flora and the odd outing at Silverstone for the BRDC member’s parade.
