Bluebottle's right - there's no guarantee that a fat set of boots is going to have the effect you expect on a car. Best to do some reading up on what is the optimum size, rather than the maximum possible.
Also bear in mind that if insurance is a factor, a trick set of wheels will make an insurer sit up and take notice. Not only for the value if they are tasty alloys, but also because some insurers will class you as a "modified car" and load your premium.
In all seriousness, it might be worth saving the money now, and reassuring your underwriter that you're a good risk, then putting something towards your first performance car a couple of years down the line. Sorry to be so prosaic.
