2017 Fantasy F1 Launch Thread

Welcome to the 2017 Fantasy F1 Competition, the rules for this year and entry details are listed as below. Any questions please feel free to ask them, better to resolve any issue early than after they have happened.

Teams:
As previous years, your team shall be made up of 2 drivers, 1 constructor and a Power Unit Where the 2 power units are the same but run under different badges, it is the Badge that will be used in the competition.

All 4 components of your team must have a combined value of 100,000 or less, and cannot fall into the following real work situations at the start of the season.

Your Drivers must be from separate constructors
Your drivers cannot drive for your constructor’s chassis
Your drivers cannot drive your Power Unit
Your constructor cannot be powered by your Power Unit Provider

Please submit your team in the usual fashion shown in the attachments.

Remember each team must be unique so please refresh the page and check that someone hasn’t jumped in whilst you have been deciding and taken your choice. If a duplicate team is entered the latter entrant will be asked to re-select.

Entry:
All Entries are to be submitted onto this thread
To be included for the full season, the entry must be on record before the start of FP1 of the opening event.
Entries are welcome at any time however if an event is underway the entry will be included for the next event. *

Scoring:
Qualification:
I have reviewed and decided to change the scoring of Qualification points for this season. Firstly, for drivers, reaching Q2 will be rewarded by 2 points, a further 2 points will be gained by going on to set a time in Q2. The same goes for reaching and setting times in Q3. Further bonuses are awarded for 2nd row on grid, 2nd place and Pole to a max of 15 points
For Constructors and power unit providers (first 2 cars regardless of constructor) 1 point per car will be awarded for reaching Q2 and likewise for Q3. Bonus points will be scored for pole and second place on grid. Max for locking out front row would be 10points.
Race:
The race points will be awarded as per previous seasons and based on the official results. Therefore, it is possible that a car which doesn’t take the chequered flag will be adjudged to have finished the race and will receive race completion points.

Bonuses:
Bonus points remain as last year with only the fastest lap receiving a 5-point bonus for each of the Driver, constructor and the power unit provider. One change to the race bonus for Gain/loss of places. Previously the rules were set at the 5-minute TV sting, however for this season onwards, the gain loss will be decided between the official Result and the Official Start Grid.
Therefore, should an incident now occur on the way to the grid or during the formation lap, this will be considered a racing incident as dealt with accordingly (accident or Tech DNF).

The points distribution for Drivers, Constructors and Power Units for both Qualification and the Race are shown in the attachments.

Penalties:
The Technical DNF penalty remains as previous years with a 5-point penalty awarded against both the Constructor and the Power Unit provider, the driver is not specifically penalised although he will lose out on the Gain/loss.

Sporting or Technical reg infringements penalised by the race stewards during the event will be incorporated in as appropriate – grid position penalty.
Should the decision be to start the car from pitlane, the grid drop penalty would be from their official Qualification Result. Likewise, should a team break Parc Ferme and opt to start from the pitlane this will be considered a self-imposed penalty. In both instances a minimum penalty is 3 penalty points.
Should a car stall or incur a fault on the grid and start from pitlane, the loss of track position is sufficient penalty.

DNQ allowed to race remains as last season, the penalties being Number of entries at the event +2 points for the driver and 12 points against each of the constructor and the power unit provider. DNQ not allowed to race is 30 driver penalty points, with 15 each for the constructor and Power Unit provider.

The penalty points sliding scale in relation to grid drop penalties remains as last season, and can been seen in the attachments below.

Substitutions and Replacements:
As always only a driver can be substituted during the season.
If your driver is replaced, the replacement driver will automatically go into your team.
If you don’t want the replacement driver, then the option is there to substitute.
If the replacement Driver now breaks the real-world rules, this wasn’t your choice and so will be allowed to continue for the remainder of the season.

Driving Bans.
Should under the licence points system your driver be banned for a race or more, the replacement driver however will NOT score you points in that/those races. Your team will be scored on the remaining driver, constructor power unit only.
You can choose however to substitute out the banned driver before the start of the event (beginning FP1) he is banned from.

A first Substitution is free, each additional change you wish to make will cost 20 points per driver.

Substitutions must be on record that is posted in this thread before the start of FP1 of the next event to be included*
Attendance
A constructor’s attendance will be considered as being at the circuit with Garage built up before the start of FP1 of an event.
Non-attendance after from the start of the season results in 0 points for Constructor and Power Unit prover, together with any named drivers.

Once a constructor has attended an event any further non-attendances will be considered DNQ Not allowed to Race with the appropriate penalty applied for each car.

Withdrawn from event:
Should a team withdraw one car from before FP1 begins for budgetary/political purposes, Driver, Constructor and Team will receive DNQ and Not Allowed to Race penalty.
If a car is withdrawn after FP1
Due to driver injury with no replacement available or is unable to complete necessary laps, there will be No penalty against either of the Driver, constructor or PU provider.
Due to perceived safety issue, insufficient time or parts to rebuild the car safely, then a DNQ allowed to race penalty is applied to driver, constructor and power unit provider. However, if the car took part in any part of Qualifying, any points from this will be kept.

* The closing time for a team to be entered or substitution to be included in the next event is the start of FP1.
I will endeavour to post confirmation and acceptance of team’s substitutions etc before each event, but where time zones or other reasons prevent me doing so, I will use the timestamps on the post and accept any notification if it fulfils the other rules.

Should there be anything that happens out with the above rules, I will consult with the site admin and fellow Moderators and come up with a fair ruling that can be applied across the remainder of the season.

With that the required information is listed below, and good luck to all entrants.
