So last year in qualifying, the gap from first to last was 3.855 seconds (ie no CRTs).
Right now it's a gap of 6.152 seconds from Stoner to Ellison. But if you leave Ellison out, the gap is 4.8 seconds from Stoner to Silva (2nd to last). I don't think the gap is as bad as people feared. And when you consider that this track is a horsepower track, it's a bit more encouraging.
