Not so sure it's to do with enough seat time so much as having the right right engineering support.
Damien White is a good example. He, to my knowledge, hasn't had massive amount of Supercar seat time and he hardly set the world on fire in the Britek machine at Sandown/Bathurst last year. He was however very impressive in his Fujitsu debut in a PMM (read: well engineered) VZ.
Give Tony a better car and you would see a better performance.
