Andy Rouse revenged his defeat from the previous round with a resounding victory. Tim Harvey challenged him early on but was soon demoted to third by Robb Gravett. The Trakstar team had Kiwi engine guru Neal Lowe of the Dick Johnson team in hand, but had issues over what could and what could not be modified regarding air intakes and filters. This left Gravett and Mike Smith down on power compared to the Rouse cars, but a first corner spin cost Smith all chances of a decent finish. His fight back through the field was one of the highligts of the race though. Harvey was soon in tyre troubles and further demoted to forth by Guy Edwards but held station ahead of Laurence Bristow. Graham Goode took the final point for sixth loosing teammate Mike Newman after an early off course excursion.
James Weaver and Frank Sytner had little drama in winning a one-two class B battle after early challenger Barrie ”Whizzo” Williams spun out of contention in the Demon Tweeks M3. Godfrey Hall would be left on the start line when his transmission failed while John Clark was another first lap casualty spinning and collected by class runner John Morris.
This left fellow Golf runner Alan Minshaw in forth in class C behind the now three Vauxhall Astras. John Cleland picked up another win from Louise Aitken-Walker and new driver Jeremy Rositer.
Ray Armes finally debuted the Graham Goode prepared Honda Civic Si to take a convincing class D victory from usual winner Phil Dowsett.

Unfortunately Autosport only brings partial results from the race – a trend to be continued throughout the season. So any help with filling out the missing results will as usual be much appreciated.

The YouTube clip does give a nice view of both the Trident Maserati wearing #26 and the Tony Dolley Corolla AE82 carrying #81. The Dolly-Colly is basically white with red and yellow bumpers while the Les Liddard car looks similar but with all red bumpers, but what number?

Debut of the Ray Armes Honda run as PG Tags Racing. The car was build by Graham Goode and Goode was soon to be seen as team in the Autosport result tables, but I thought the car was actually run by Trakstar ..or was that only from 1990?
