the 6l is the corvette ZR-1 motor, it was designed for chevy and built by mercury marine when GM owned lotus back in the day. the elise was originally built around the 3.5 and then after adapted for the 6l. it would appear that a smaller lighter motor, 3.5, would have a fuel cnsupmtion advatangeand its is very small, compact and light. so why switch to a big, heavy, thirsty v8. very suspect and contray to the lotus philosihpy, but yet this is not a full works effort.
i think lotusGTP could answer this one for us. so whats the logic behind the switch?
