Speaking of the Nippon Race Engines, it wasn't proven for longer races yet like Nurburgring 24 Hours.
One last thing though, had the Class One regulations failed to unify again, I feel that JAF/GTA would abandon it in favor of a souped-up version of the GTE/GT3 regulations. Imagine the big 3 manufacturers running GTE cars with tons of horsepower and it might reach closer to GT1.
