Season is on the way!! With several news, including new teams, new drivers and new manufacturers. Let's begin with the schedule:
April 22 - Interlagos
June 10 - Brasilia
June 24 - Jacarepaguá
July 22 - Curitiba (supporting the FIA WTCC Race of Brazil)
September 23 - Velopark
October 28 - Tarumã (TBC)
November 18 - Londrina
December 2 - Curitiba (double points)
Now, the news:
- The Chevrolet teams will race the Cruze instead of the Astra. Two teams will run the Chevrolets this year: Carlos Alves and Mico's Racing. AMG is out;
- The Honda teams will race the new Civic. Again, two teams: Full Time Sports and Auto Racing;
- The only model from 2011 to stay is the Ford Focus. Amir Nasr Racing will stay, and Bassan Motorsport (misidentified as a second Bassani Racing entry in 2011) will join them;
- Toyota is now officially within the championship. Bassani Racing will stay with two cars, while the other two will be raced by Ricardo Zonta's RZ Racing;
- Mitsubishi is the 5th manufacturer to enter the series. Officer ProGP (former Ford team) and Serra Motorsport (former Honda team) will run the four Mitsubishi Lancer GT's entered.
The field is limited to 20 cars (4 from each manufacturer). Drivers for 8 out of 20 cars were confirmed. Here is the provisional entry list:
