Slight correction Matt, they didn't build 500 Homologation cars and then take off the homologation parts, the cars were delivered to the dealers with the homologated parts in the trunk, and that is why the FIA were forced to re-inistate the 240T's homologation [after it was successfully protested by Tom Walkinshaw] because the homologation rule never specified that the evolution parts had to be fitted!
