The news item mention 'improvements' in engine performance, handling, braking and safety, so there could be enough deviation from original spec to scupper HTPs.... Nothing that couldn't be sorted, though, I'm sure!
From my limited knowledge of DB4s, I believe it's possible to create a 'GT' from a normal car, and that used to be a less expensive route to racing one with papers than buying a genuine car. Perhaps not now with the price even barn find cars fetch!
