A hippy eco Panda is fine if you are an eco-hippy. For the average family with a 10-year old Mondeo a Panda/Matiz/eco-box is going to be useless

I'm not surprised 80% of people aren't interested. Most people who drive a car that old do so out of either choice or necessity. If you drive a 10-year old Mini because you enjoy it then you probably aren't interested in a new car, and if you drive one because that's all you can afford then chances are a new car is still out of your reach even with the discount.
