Kubica has driven a current car. Well... sort of. He has driven the 2017 RBR in their simulator, which is one of the most realistic F1 simulators currently available. It's the next best thing to driving an actual F1 car, minus the g-forces.
I have no doubt that if Kubica is 100% ready, and even if he'd only done half the required km's in a current car, that he would be given a superlicence under 'very' exceptional circumstances.
