If they got back to GT500 meaning 500bhp limit and stock block engines, then yes, that's a sound option. The GT500 name is currently a misnomer, given that the current engines make more like 600bhp.
Granted, we remember how that went last time when by 2007 Nissan ditched the turbo charged V6 out of the 350Z and made the "450Z" with a racing version of the VK45 V8.
