It won't work. If you adhere to the road car configs one config will inevitably be the best, so you lose the diversity of the class.
Porsche don't want the 911 to be superceeded as their main brand. So if a 911 can't beat a Ferrari in a straight fight you have to have BoP.
We have LMP for a pure technical fight. GT is a branding exercise.
