Seriously, in this picture the cowling, or cover that is supposed to be on the hoop wasn't on. With that, the whole thing looks a somewhat less "unnatural". They couldn't get it finished in time for practice, and only taped it on for a couple of laps; I don't know if they used it in the race. Some pictures can be found at
