Drag racing world record attempt

Hi I am a newbie here. I am a fan of classic cars and historic racing, just starting out with motorsport marshaling.

However, I am also a bit of a Red Victor fan. In the 1980s Andy Frost bought a 1970s Vauxhall Victor for £60. He ran it as his daily driver for 10 years, learning how to tinker with it and upgrade it to keep it on the road. And he kept going and going until it became the world's fastest street legal car in 2012. He held and improved on the record until 2014.

It's been a group effort by fans and friends to fund him in his plans to regain the title. Red Victor 3 has undergone a substantial rebuild, bringing the vehicle up to its current 4000 bhp. With this complete, fans have continued to raise money to ship the car out to Bahrain to compete in their drag racing season this autumn.

The car needs to do a quarter mile 5 second pass to retake the record from the current holder. We have enough to cover shipping and the first fixture, without any contingencies for repairs/mishaps, but the plan is for the car to race in the entire season, until the record is broken, so the Red Victor racing team have just launched a crowd funding site.

If you would like to know more, the crowd funding site is at https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/l...r-british--2#/
