For comparison... 2013 LMP1 pole time was a 1.43... Quickest time last year was a 1:52.
These cars aren't THAT much faster per lap than the previous stuff we've had.

I would call pushing 3 seconds a significant improvement. Particularly considering the cars were never expected to come close to LMP1 times despite the increased speed.
