My Tipps for 2018:
fusion with DTM (Class One, an ITC like world series)
fusion with TCR International.
I doubt that the WTCC alone can be succesfull with Class One rules. Volvo don't have a Class One Car, only Honda, and I doubt that VW gropp, Mercedes, BMW, Toyota, Nissan/Renault grup want to enter/lease cars for the new championsip.
They may continue TC1 rules in the next 2-3 season, but it requires way more support for privateers by the series owner. There are still 5 SLR Citroen, 5-6 Civic, 5-6 RML Cruze and at least 3 Volvo. But it works only if the organizer racionalize the costs and increase the attention (with better race traks, more races, etc.) and give a lot of money for the private teams.
