Let's be perfectly honest about BAR: there are only two teams inferior, Minardi and Prost, and Prost is going under. The problem with today's musical chairs game is that there are many talented young drivers ready to snap up a position in a team for not much pay - some even paying their way through endorsements and sponsorship. That leaves a high salaried Jacques with the unenviable position of being overlooked for an up and coming young gun like Mark Webber, James Courtney, Pizzonia, etc....and I am sure there are a gaggle of Fins lurking around. In fact, we are already talking about Bunsen losing his place, Rubens, Heinz, and so on, and these are good drivers capable of winning if ensconced in a top car. The days of the expensive driver demanding a fortune for a place in a team are reserved for the likes of MSch and JPM. There is no way Ralf would be able to command his current salary if he did not have it protected by his long contract.
Sorry for the long post.
