If you find a way to engineer a small 2L 4 cylinder turbo charged engine to produce the same amount of torque as 6.2L V8, then you'll have a queue of customers at your door wanting some of that. If they had to run a massive V8, then they wouldn't be here as it doesn't fit the Mazda philosophy. It's also why Nissan has a V6 - happens to be the same as the GTR.
