He's taking a pop at state competitors who aren't choosing to race the national series because of cost or balls, yes? Those competitors are choosing state competition for the same reason he chose to go aus fford racing instead of a higher class (development, gt-prod) when his team was capable of participating in a higher class (although his team wasn't big enough to be the leader), in the late 90s, early 00s. He chose to be a big fish in a small pond instead of a small fish in an ocean, the state ffords competitors have made a similar choice. Yet, he's having a go at them? Pfft! As a result of him taking the soft option of "raising the bar" in fford, slowly, slowly aus fford has gone beyond being an entry level class, it is only by reputation, nothing else. Fford doesn't need the bar to be raised, it's a amateur/privateer class, raising the bar is for whatever class is designated to Gold Star.
