That was more a rhetorical question. Batteries can hold enough power/charge to do some good amount of laps with lmp pace but they won't go as far and recharging is out of the question to keep up with a refuel time. In order to recharge those batteries they'd probably be in the pits for quite a bit more time than regular refueling.
