I think the plan was to add some more tyres at the chicanes but I can't remember exactly. I think they wanted to add a pile along the barriers on entry/exit to cover off a lot of these 'snap' accidents we see under braking/acceleration.
That's my preference to making big changes but I just hope we don't keep finding tyres in the middle of the track during race week.
