D-Type should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
The Corsair was heavier than the Cortina with similar engine and running gear so it seldom appeared in races or rallies at a level above 'racing the family car' but Ford did set some long distance records at Montlhery or Nardi. I think they were in the 'Ford publicist' class rather than true International Class Records.
There could never have been a Ford Corvair or Chevrolet would never have been able to to use the name.
