Geoff put all his energy, money and expertise into this Hart Escort. What he did on the car was far more advanced and forsighted than many of the other teams racing in the series and we have to remember Geoff was a privateer unlike several others that had works backing and big budgets.

The use of a lightweight full space frame, mid 'Hart' engine and GP technology was always the dream of many of us racers in the 1970's and Geoff working with Cyril Malem achieved possibly the best set up a Special Saloon could have in it's day, but it needed lots of testing to get the best lap times out of it and Geoff Wood had his work to consider.

Many other special saloon owner/drivers went on to copy Geoff's car, especially on the Mk2 Escorts and I have always believed this Hart Escort is a special car and we cant wait to see it restored and if it's raced by an aggressive driver, watch the lap times tumble.
