But will it change the pecking order? One thing that will happen is that the lesser teams will still not stand a chance of being on the podium unless chance happenings allow it. The podium may get a little less predictable in places but we will have to wait and see about that also. Why anyone would even imagine that Ferrari, RB & Mercedes are not going to be on the podium and might fall back through the field beats me. Just maybe Ferrari might fall away but it is a fairly unlikely scenario.
In light of the current hiatus F1 is experiencing you can bet money that the R&D side of F1 that is needed for the new regs is going to experience big losses of personnel and the lesser teams will suffer the most in this regard which will affect the design and performance of the cars yet to be designed & built.
