2010 Argentinian Top Race V6 season (Copa América)

The Argentinian Top Race V6 (www.trv6.com.ar) has several changes for 2010. First of all, broadcasting has changed from Carburando (Buenos Aires 13, TyC Sports outside Argentina) for América. That means that I can't watch any race at home. Series owner Alejandro Urtubey (also owner of motorsport mazagine Corsa) decided to change the season to August-May as with football. Therefore, the first 6 races of the year will be part of the 2010 Copa América, no races will be held from mid May to late July, and the remaining 6 races of 2010 will be part of the 2010/11 season.

The race formal has been changed too. Mimicking the Turismo Carretera, there will be three 15-minute heats on Sunday with split grids and a final 45-minute race. The top 10 drivers qualified will also race a 3-lap sprint race on Saturday. Only drivers who won a heat or final race may be eligible for the championship.

Chevrolet, Ford, Mercedes and Volkswagen all stay in the championship with their new Vectra (Astra C) and Mondeo III and their old C-Class and Passat lookalikes. Citroën and Renault have entered their C5 II and Laguna III, whereas there are no Peugeot 407 bodies anymore.
