Not as unique as you think. Athough not in seperate classes the VW Cup uses a power-to-weight eligiblity limit. Wasn't the now cancelled Britcar V8 series going to use a similar idea for class structure.
The arguement will always be accurately measuring power. Reading through the DSC regs they have provition for a mobile rolling road to attend event, which realistically is the only sensible option.
Seems to work in DSC so why not.
