(This seems to be a non-issue after your last post, but) In theory building a GT3-ish car could be solely an attempt at being more competitive in World Challenge where the GT3-derived cars have had an edge on the WC-rules Caddy for the last few months. By calling it a GT3 they don't have to stick to much in the way of a technical ruleset and it gives them a lot more freedom in designing their car. I'm sure they have enough lobbying power to get it approved for PWC even without official FIA-homologation.
