Sorry. Liz, but the World Closed Course record was set about 10 years ago by AJ Foyt at the GM Proving grounds at something like 279 MPH. Lynn St. James had set the record earlier ('86, I think) at Michigan Int'l Speedway at 241 mph.
While fast, it's only a track record.
