You'd maybe save a few grand on fuel and tyres, but that's about it. But longer races can allow you to run an additional pay driver too, which some teams use. Not sure if that's popular in IMSA, but it certainly is over in Europe.
I can't think of any major teams that run both Blancpain and IMSA, so I don't see why moving the Glen closer to Spa would be a problem. I do think it needs to be moved away from Le Mans a bit though. That would make it more of a possibility of attracting some European LMP2s. If that's what they want of course - if they don't want that then it doesn't matter.
