You have to wonder though, has there been an agenda at RBR since Vettel joined in '09 to make him the number one driver in the team?? Was it something that Marko, Horner & Co decided upon to make sure the world knew that the Red Bull young driver programme infact does have merit? Was it part of Vettel's contract? Or was it part of Marko's contract, to ensure that the RB YDP would produced a WDC? We all know Webber doesn't actually have, and never has had, a written contract to race for Red Bull. A loophole that Marko exploited perhaps??
IF that has been the case, and RBR indeed decided to make Vettel the number one driver in the team, and focus on him from 2009 onwards, one has to wonder how Vettel would feel about all his "achievements" so far. Would he feel as happy knowing that he's main competition was in fact restricted all these years? His main rival, and probably the only person that could have challenged him, maybe even for the WDC's, was deliberately held back and not allowed to challenge him?? Is this is why drivers like Alonso and Hamilton, don't rate Vettel much as a driver, and are always praising Newey's car?
