Don't discount the specialist roles - working in the pits, on the startline and in assembly have their own challenges and rewards. Even as you move up through the ranks of trackside marshalling, you can always sign on to do a "specialist" role.

Flagging is great, and getting the blue right is always a good feeling. but there are always those moments you kick yourself for blue-ing a pair battling for position, or missing the leader.
If you enjoy it - keep at it!

Thanks for this - yes, good to have range of experiences so I have duly volunteered for a mix online of flag and incident (and of course happy to be told on the day to do something different) and was planning to get some pit experience once I have some incident/flag experience under my belt
