Back to the P3 for French GT thing for a moment:
It really doesn't make a lot of sense to me.
At least in theory, GT Tour is supposed to be France's top-level racing series, i.e. their equivalent to a BTCC or DTM. But by making the P3s (a closed shop, spec-powertrain formula) their top class (well, as soon as the constructors get their act together), they are excluding all forms of involvement from volume manufacturers, effectively limiting the whole thing to being nothing but a club series.
Now they wouldn't be doing this if things were all shiny and rosy right now, but I don't think this move is going to help them. They might pick up a few new teams, but at the cost of losing all chance to raise the series' profile through manufacturer activation, etc.
