you could right click and "Save as target" to save the file instead of launching it in media player. And to combat the 2 hour disconnect you could use a program like
http://www.getright.com/ which allows you to reconnect and continue downloading.
I have a 2 hour modem disconnect too and the largest file ive downloaded was 120Mb.
I watched both these movies from work, pretty good. I prefered the Elise vs Corvette movie.
